In the mid 1980s as Executive Director of Crossing Addiction Treatment Centers I taught myself computer programming. It was a business necessity for the daily operations for the treatment centers. During the web growth years in the 1990s, while still in my primary work, I became interested in web development as a hobby and in an effort to give back to the community I began building websites for charitable organizations. My natural facility for web languages soon unfolded into a passion for web standards and programming. More recently I was on hiatus from developing websites till I moved to Dade City in July 2013 and with forming DC Places I am once again providing high quality websites for local charities and affordable websites for businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and bloggers.
